During round 2 of Teamleague 59 there was a disconnection and miscommunication with the game (Spongeworthy vs Diduk).

Diduk disconnected and then there was an unresolved debate on their game forum for the continuancee of their game. To our surprise they issued a forced draw once a new game time was not decided on prior to our last game in the round. The outcome of the remaining game at the time(round 2) should have nothing to do with the resumption of (Spongeworthy vs Diduk). We will be petitioning the game for RESUME under the teamleague rule (players have until round 6 to complete unfinished games),

"If a player disconnects for more than 15 minutes, or 3 times within 30 minutes, either player may elect to have the game be adjourned to a later date. If resumption is not possible ( E.g. after Game Completion deadline, end of round 6, late in playoffs rounds, unavailability of one or both players) the Tournament Director will make a determination of Set Game or Set Game Draw, based on the position at the time."

Simply put, it isn't round 6 yet so there is no reason to force a result.

Some of the rules for TL are outdated or need clearer wording. Currently that project lags behind the efforts to get TL running again and smoothing out some bumps, but someday may get done.

I can understand how the cited rule can be misinterpreted, and will offer the following explanation:

"If resumption is not possible ( E.g. after Game Completion deadline, end of round 6, late in playoffs rounds, unavailability of one or both players) the Tournament Director will make a determination of Set Game or Set Game Draw, based on the position at the time."

Piece by piece:

"after Game Completion deadline" - Players have been required to complete games within the week of negotiations. If the game is not agreed upon by that Tuesday 2200 deadline, a one-week extension is granted to provide opportunity for the game to be played. However, the date/time must be agreed upon by that first Tuesday deadline.

"end of round 6" - TL has gone through many changes, but at one time we had seasons that had only six rounds (see "quad sections"http://www.teamleague.org/LightNEasy.php?page=schedules), hence no possibilities for extensions beyond round six. This did not and does not mean that games adjourned in rounds 1, 2, 3, etc, could be extended to be completed before the end of round six, but needed to be completed in the normal extension listed above.

"late in playoffs rounds" - during seasons when we had two rounds of playoffs after the regular season, we did not allow extensions then, also.

"unavailability of one or both players" - self-explanatory.
