While not personally adverse to alternate forms of chess, I will note Team League will only be considering standard 45 45 chess play.

I dont mean to fit this proposal in the actual TL, i mean to try to see how many peaple are interested in it, and to see if somebody able could run it using maybe this platform,(i know nothing about "programming").
I think maybe even GMs external to FICS could be interested in something like that if it would run good, there's nothing like that around, not in ICC not in playchess etc..

Would possibly be interested in this ; if TL doesn't want to run it and there is enough interest I'm sure someone might run at least a test tourney

I'm in too. The max time limit one of the fr tournaments have is the 7 0 scheduled tourney. It would be a whole new game playing with longer time controls. It would definitely bring the strengths of the players closer.

45/45 fr "TL" has some innate problems. The biggest one is that a 7 team fr drr would take 14+ weeks to complete. (Drr because white's edge in the starting position isn't constant.) And what ratings would you use? FR ratings are usually based on lightning play.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a ladder for 45/45 fr play. That could be almost completely web based... maybe there would be a bot (Fishbot ;) for starting games and posting results. There would be some rules to work out, but I like it better than the alternatives.
