The reminders that some TDs send about the initial and final contact deadlines should be automated, for a few reasons:

* It would save time for TDS.
* Some players seem to take the reminders personally. I think a computer-generated reminder would feel less like a personal rebuke.
* Automated reminders at specific times are more fair for everyone, as opposed to the current system where TDs send reminders at varying times (and some may not send reminders at all).
* The wording of the reminders could be standardized to be informative and clear.

An interested idea.

I could see some advantages to such. an automated approach.

There are those who may suggest that it may take AWAY the personal touch of a TD.
