In September 2011, following T47, we will hold our regular TD meeting.
Players as well as staff members (TDs, programmers, guardian angels) are invited to provide suggestions for changes and constructive input.

One suggestion to consider is to not list teams entered until after the deadline.
On the plus side, it would eliminate the unlikely but possible opportunity for teams to manipulate their lineups to somehow gain an advantage in team sections.
On the negative side, not seeing who has already been recruited or joined to a team may lead to some players being added to teams within the same section by captains.

The plus side doesn't seem to be an issue to me, since half the teams don't enter until the last minute, and the page isn't updated until later anyway, so a team trying to game the system would also have to account for the fact that not all teams are listed. So I think that's fine.

It doesn't make too much of a difference. If a team has the luxury of adjusting players to fit ratings limits, then that team still has a week to adjust before the first round of the tournament, which, frankly, would be much easier than trying to adjust at the last minute in order to sneak into an appropriate ranking with incomplete information about teams entered anyway.

Please also look at the "Proposals" section of the board for issues meriting consideration.

Suggestions in "proposals" sections will be reviewed prior to our next TD meeting.

wouldn't it be nice to see a few more quality endgames? otb, players get an endgame time bonus, whereas in teamleague we usually have to blitz out our endgames, because of time trouble.
on fics, the "moretime" command has to be issued by the players and is currently forbidden in teamleague. but perhaps seberg could work out something that makes teamleague (td) add 22:30 minutes to both clocks on move 45? (i know it is 30 minutes on move 40 in fide, but we are teamleague, aren't we?). such change would affect perhaps 10-20 % of all tl games, the others end earlier.
adding a total of 45 minutes to the game will not destroy anyone's weekend timeline while allowing to take a breath and formulate an endgame plan at some point.

Out of 100 most recent 45 45 games on FICS 21 ended after 45th move, so would be affected by your change. In only 4 of these games the losing player had less than 10 minutes on the clock at the end of the game. So I don't think the change would make a big difference.
Reading an intermediate book on chess endings would make a big difference though :).

If we were to add time in an endgame situation, I'd prefer it to be shorter, and also the 45 second increment would need to be shorter since otherwise the game would be too long.
But we are 45 45 anyway, and I like that control.

Here is a belated summary of the TD meeting following T47.
* Not entering teams until after the deadline: there was a consensus that it is difficult enough to get an advantage by manipulating teams at the last minute, so no change is necessary.
* Changing the time control: consensus not to change it.
* Automated deadline reminders: there was a consensus for this change. As of this writing I have implemented it and it seems to be working.
* RR penalty for players who miss a game and renegotiate: no consensus, so no change. However, there was a consensus to make RR more visible and understandable to users, and to encourage TDs to use the player comment function.
* Disconnectors list: there was a consensus to clarify the rules relating to disconnections, but no consensus for any other change.
* Interested teams list: jaber said he would talk to the programmers.
* Website editor: jaberwock and I talked in private. I have been given access to edit the website, and I have added a history page and a list of champions.
The meeting closed with the customary singing of the TL anthem.
