Penalties

Penalty Points Recommendations. Every forfeited game will result in a -2 points recommendation. The Chief TD issues the penalties using the SecTD's recommendations as a guide. See next section for more detail.

Rulings – Steps when a penalty is needed

Steps for Penalties for Forfeits

  1. dTD posts the forfeit ruling in the forum, and asks something like, "Please let me know by Thurs 10 pm if there is a reason this loss should not be ruled a forfeit." Give 48 hour notice for this deadline. Do not extend the time period allowed for a response in any additional posts you may decide to make.
  2. dTD posts something like, "Having not been notified of any extenuating circumstances, this loss is now ruled a forfeit".
  3. TD sends the penalty recommendations to the Chief TD.

Remember that every forfeit requires a -2 points penalty; if the dTD does not feel such penalty is warranted, he should call it a set game rather than forfeit. The dTD should consult with the SecTD.

Steps for penalties for behavior violations

  1. dTD posts the ruling in the forum, including something like, "Please let me know by Thurs 10 pm if there is a reason to not recommend a yellow card, based on Statute 3.B." Give 48 hour notice for this deadline.
  2. dTD posts something like, "Having not been notified of reasons to not recommend a yellow card, it is now recommended."
  3. SecTD sends the penalty recommendations to the Chief TD.

The penalty imposed by the issuing of a penalty that should set the RR points of the player to 0 or less shall take effect immediately following any round in which the offending player has already been declared as a player, even if the game for the round has not yet been arranged or played. An Appeal against a suspension must be lodged within 48 hours of the suspension being issued. If the offending player is then selected for a subsequent round prior to the Appeal being heard and a game takes place, it shall be declared a forfeit win for the opponent in the event that the appeal is dismissed.

Because of the ramifications of this rule, the decisions by the dTD must be timely, and a 48-hour deadline for the captain or player to give an explanation must be imposed and strictly enforced.
