Round 7 and the Playoffs

As we are coming to the end of another tournament, a fortunate few will be looking forward to the playoffs. As in the past, each section winner will be determined by a match between the top two teams, to be played immediately after the conclusion of round 7. For this reason, there are no extensions possible for round 7, all games must be completed by 19:00, on Tuesday March 13th. Extensions will however be possible for the playoffs (round 8).

For the playoffs, the higher seed (the team finishing first over the 7 regular rounds) will have the white pieces on boards 1 and 3. They will also have draw odds, and be declared champions in the event of a 2-2 tie in the playoff match.

Players should note that daylight saving takes effect on the U.S. west coast this Sunday. As a result, server time will shift forward one hour - 02:00 PST will become 03:00 PDT. Please take this into account when scheduling games.
